Lenka, a senior member of our team, originally qualified as an accountant in her birthplace the Czech Republic, before requalifying as an osteopath in 2005 at the world-renowned British School of Osteopathy. Registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOSC), she is also a member of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA), the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) and the Northern Counties Society of Osteopaths (NCSO).

In 2010 Lenka joined the teaching team on the Masters degree course in Osteopathy at Leeds Metropolitan University with roles as both technique tutor and clinic tutor responsible for final year students and contributed to the professional redevelopment of the course. She has also taken a part in the voluntary Revalidation Pilot Scheme integral to the future assessment of practising osteopaths.

Alongside her ‘hands on’ osteopathic treatment, Lenka uses western medical acupuncture where appropriate and draws on her interest in yoga and Pilates to devise exercises for both rehabilitation and prevention. Lenka has a particular interest in the treatment of shoulders and neck conditions, including the arm and jaw and since the birth of her own daughter has become especially interested in treatment of common pregnancy related conditions such as pelvic girdle pain and symphysis pubis dysfunction.

In her spare time Lenka is a real outdoor girl, enjoying cycling, rock climbing and mountain walking with her husband and daughter. She has a passion for gardening and has previously volunteered at RHS Harlow Carr.
